Google Firebase (Push Notifications)

We use Google Firebase to send push notifications to your device. These notifications keep you informed about important events such as delivery status changes (e.g., your parcel has been picked up, is out for delivery, or has been delivered) and home service booking confirmations.

Data involved: To deliver notifications to the right device, Firebase receives your device's push notification token — a unique identifier assigned by your mobile operating system. No personal details such as your name, phone number, or address are shared with Firebase beyond what is needed to route the notification to your device.

Purpose: Real-time delivery and booking updates so you are always informed without having to open the app.

Expo (Push Notification Relay)

YUMA uses Expo, a mobile development platform, as the intermediary that routes push notifications from our servers to your device. When we send you a notification, it first travels to Expo's infrastructure, which then forwards it to your device via Google Firebase (on Android) or Apple's notification service (on iOS).

Data involved: Expo receives your device's Expo push token (a unique identifier it assigns when you install the app) along with the notification content — such as a delivery status update or booking confirmation, which may include your order's tracking number. Expo does not receive your name, phone number, or payment details.

Purpose: Reliably delivering push notifications across both Android and iOS devices through a single, managed notification pipeline.

Facebook / Meta (WhatsApp Business API)

We use the WhatsApp Business API, provided by Meta, to send transactional messages directly to your WhatsApp account. These messages include delivery status updates and booking confirmations.

Data involved: To send you a WhatsApp message, your phone number is transmitted to Meta's messaging infrastructure. The content of each message is limited to information directly relevant to your booking or delivery (e.g., tracking number, current status, estimated time). We do not use this channel for marketing without your consent.

Purpose: Providing timely, convenient delivery and booking updates through a messaging platform you already use.

Google Sign-In & Apple Sign-In (Single Sign-On)

You can create a YUMA account or log in using your existing Google or Apple account. This is purely optional — you can always register with a phone number or email instead. Choosing Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple means you do not need to create or remember a separate YUMA password.

Data involved: When you use this option, Google or Apple confirms your identity to us and shares only the basic profile information you have authorized — typically your name and email address. We do not receive your Google or Apple password. Apple's "Hide My Email" feature is fully supported, so you may share a private relay address if you prefer.

Purpose: Making account creation and login faster and more secure by relying on the identity verification already provided by Google or Apple.
